REINTER and PRAE welcome foreign students from the PEC-G and GCUB-MOB programs

The departments have already received around 10 international students in recent days for the initial orientation.

The International Relations Office of FURG (REINTER) and the Office of Student Affairs (PRAE) welcomed international students recently arrived in Brazil through the PEC-G and GCUB-MOB programs. This first contact aimed to guide them through the initial academic and administrative procedures, ensuring a smoother adaptation to the university.

During the reception, students received initial information about the procedures following their arrival at FURG and the available services. They were then directed to PRAE, where they were registered in the specific calls for each program. Later, the exchange students completed biometric registration to access the university restaurant. PROGRAD and PROPESP also collaborate in academic support, assisting with enrollment procedures and student regularization within their respective courses.

In recent days, around ten international students have gone through the initial orientation. Among those welcomed were Januário, Abdullah, Nuno, Ana Clara, Caetano, Miguel Taveiro, Luz Nélida, and Lesly, as well as other exchange students who recently participated in the reception, such as Elcitânia, Jovania, and Ismael.

During the reception, the newcomers received support from Romeu Vieira Có and Guilhermino dos Santos, undergraduate and graduate students at FURG, who are part of REINTER’s new "International Friend" program. This initiative aims to assist exchange students in adapting to their new environment, fostering cultural exchange, and building connections between foreign and Brazilian students.

In the coming days, the university expects the arrival of more exchange students from the Move La América program, further expanding diversity and cultural exchange on campus.
