The University of Extremadura (UEX), in Spain, has opened applications for its international Study Abroad mobility program, aimed at foreign students who wish to undertake a study period at the institution during the 2026/2027 academic year. Applications must be submitted through the application form available on the MOVEON platform between April 1 and April 30, 2026, for the first semester. The initiative is open to students from various fields, with emphasis on health sciences, exact sciences, engineering, veterinary medicine, and education.

Students interested in attending the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, in the programs of Physiotherapy, Medicine, or Nursing, must meet specific requirements. A Spanish language proficiency certificate at B1 level is mandatory. Additionally, Medicine students must also demonstrate B1 level in English. The Learning Agreement must be submitted by July 15 for the first semester or by December 15 for the second semester.
Regarding clinical placements, Nursing students intending to undertake practical training at UEX must submit, before arriving in Badajoz, an updated vaccination record, including hepatitis B, HIV, and tetanus-diphtheria, with influenza vaccination strongly recommended. A digital COVID certificate with at least two doses is required. Students must present the European Health Insurance Card or private insurance, as well as liability insurance for internships in healthcare centers. The university may request an additional evaluation by a primary care physician if necessary.
Internships for the sixth year of Medicine, fourth year of Physiotherapy, and Nursing placements will preferably take place at the University Hospital of Badajoz. After filling these positions, placements may be assigned in hospitals located between 60 and 100 kilometers from the city. Available slots per discipline are three for Medicine, four for Physiotherapy, four per Nursing placement, and five for General Radiology (third year of Medicine) and Physical Medicine (fifth year). The academic calendar for the first semester runs from September 10 to December 19, 2026, while the second semester runs from January 30 to May 8, 2027.
