Event hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology expands possibilities for international partnerships and academic mobility
From May 26 to 28, the Secretary of International Affairs, Dariano Krummenauer, visited King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. The visit was part of the University Discovery program, a three-day event organized and funded by KAUST to present the university and its academic mobility programs to higher education institutions from around the world.
This edition brought together representatives from universities in Brazil, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia. Among the Brazilian institutions, FURG was selected to join the group of invited universities, highlighting its strategic role in international research and development networks.
Located in Thuwal, on the shores of the Red Sea, KAUST is a research-driven university with a strong focus on internationalization. It hosts cutting-edge research centers in key areas such as Renewable Energy, Marine and Environmental Sciences, Data Science, High-Performance Computing, and Robotics, among others.
KAUST offers a wide range of academic mobility programs for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and administrative staff, including short-term exchanges and research projects. Participants receive full support from the university, including on-campus housing, travel expenses, and scholarships during their stay.
