International partnerships take center stage in dialogue with the university
On the morning of Monday (17), FURG welcomed Fernando Sosa, Institutional Relations Coordinator of the Association of Montevideo Group Universities (AUGM). The meeting aimed to present the structure and programs offered by the network, which brings together public universities from South America to strengthen academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation.
The presentation provided an overview of AUGM’s work, including its main initiatives and partnerships. Highlighted programs included ESCALA, which promotes the mobility of undergraduate and graduate students, professors, researchers, and administrative staff, and the Jornadas de Jóvenes Investigadores (JJI), an event that encourages scientific production among early-career students. Both opportunities are regularly announced by REINTER through public calls.
The event also served as a space for dialogue, allowing participants to clarify questions about participating in the programs with Sosa and REINTER. According to Nicole Feijó, Academic Mobility Coordinator, AUGM has become one of FURG’s key partners, with growing participation through the ESCALA and JJI programs.
