The International Affairs Office of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande announces the publication of Call No. 17/2026 of the CAPES / AUGM Program, an initiative aimed at funding joint research projects and international academic mobility between Brazilian higher education institutions and AUGM member universities.
The program seeks to strengthen international academic cooperation, foster collaborative scientific production, and promote the internationalization of Brazilian graduate education through the exchange of professors, researchers, and graduate students.
The call provides financial support for:
working missions for professors and researchers;
sandwich PhD and postdoctoral scholarships for Brazilians abroad;
sandwich master’s, sandwich PhD, and postdoctoral scholarships for foreign researchers in Brazil;
operational funding for research development.
Selected projects may receive funding for up to four years.
Proposals must be submitted by faculty members affiliated with Brazilian graduate programs, in partnership with AUGM member universities, exclusively through the CAPES online application system.
For the 2026/2027 call, proposals must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. (Brasília time) on July 2, 2026. Project activities are expected to begin in January 2027.
REINTER highlights the importance of participation by FURG Graduate Programs in this call, considering the program’s potential to expand international research networks, promote co-authored publications, and strengthen institutional internationalization processes.
