REINTER Announces IFORS Travel Sponsorship Opportunity to Join ELAVIO 2027 in Uruguay

The International Relations Office (REINTER) of the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) shares the opportunity regarding the IFORS Travel Sponsorship to participate in the 2027 edition of ELAVIO (Latin-American Summer School in Operations Research), to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, from February 21 to 26, 2027.

About the Program and Benefits

ELAVIO is aimed at young researchers and graduate students (PhD, Master's, and advanced undergraduate) with outstanding performance and interest in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, and Applied Mathematics. The IFORS grant covers travel expenses, while the ELAVIO organization provides accommodation and meals (upon payment of a $50 USD registration fee).

 

Application Requirements

  • Be a PhD or Master's student, or have completed a PhD no more than 2 years ago;
  • Be affiliated with an institution in a developing country outside the ALIO member countries, regardless of nationality;
  • Be proficient in English (to present work and answer questions) and have a basic understanding of Spanish or Portuguese[cite:
  • Have completed work in the school's core areas of interest and provide a recommendation letter from an advisor.
  • The selected candidate will be required to submit a final report to IFORS regarding the impact of their participation.
