Registrations open for Celpe-Bras 2025/2 with application at FURG

Registrations for the 2025/2 edition of the Celpe-Bras (Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners) are open from August 4 to 15. The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) will once again participate as a test center, according to Public Notice No. 96/2025, published by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).

Officially recognized by the Brazilian government, Celpe-Bras is the only exam that certifies proficiency in Portuguese as a foreign language. The test is required for admission to various universities and graduate programs in Brazil.

At FURG, candidates will be able to take both the written and oral parts of the exam, which will be held from October 21 to 24. The registration fee for taking the test at FURG is R$ 245.00.

The university will be responsible for confirming registrations, providing guidance to candidates, and organizing the necessary infrastructure, following Inep's guidelines. Candidates who require special assistance or wish to be identified by their social name must make the request during registration, within the specified period.

Registrations must be completed exclusively through the website: celpebras.inep.gov.br. The final result will be released on December 17.
