The Brazilian Universities International Cooperation Group (GCUB), in partnership with Hebei Normal University in China, announces the opening of registrations for the 5th Edition of the Chinese Language Course. The main objective of this initiative is to foster participants’ familiarity with the Chinese language and culture, expanding opportunities for communication in academic and social contexts.
The course will be delivered entirely online, in Portuguese, and will offer six classes divided between Levels 1 and 2. Scheduled to begin on September 15, 2025, the program has a total workload of 44 hours. Class frequency varies by group: classes 1A, 2A, 1B, and 2B will have two weekly sessions of two hours each, while classes 1C and 2C will have one weekly session of four hours. Each class is limited to 35 participants, and will be taught by Professors Tian Jinmin, Wang Yan, Yin Xienlu, and Shuai Zhang through the VooV Meeting platform.
The course is intended for undergraduate and graduate students, professors, administrative staff, and recent graduates (up to one year after graduation) from universities affiliated with GCUB. Selection will be made in order of registration, and participants must be affiliated with one of the member institutions. Enrollment in Level 2 classes requires completion of Chinese 1 or proof of equivalent knowledge, corresponding to HSK1 level.
Upon completion, participants who meet the requirements will receive a certificate. Additionally, students enrolled in Level 2 will be encouraged to take the international proficiency exam Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK2), scheduled for November 23, 2025, also online.
