This Thursday (16), the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) formalized a partnership with the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in Spain. The agreement aims to promote collaboration between the institutions in academic, scientific, technological, and cultural fields, contributing to the integration of activities and research programs of mutual interest in undergraduate and graduate education.
The agreement covers all areas of knowledge and provides for the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, professors, researchers, and administrative staff, through the signing of specific agreements. It also includes collaboration between professors and researchers in the development of teaching, research, extension, and technological innovation projects, as well as the joint organization and participation in scientific, technological, and cultural events, such as seminars, lectures, and academic meetings.
Among other planned activities are the development of joint programs leading to double degrees, in accordance with each institution’s regulations, as well as the supervision and co-supervision of master’s dissertations and doctoral theses, in addition to participation in examination committees. The agreement also allows for the exchange of bibliographic and other materials, the pursuit of international funding for joint research projects, the offering of in-person and distance continuing education programs, and the sharing of laboratory resources and research infrastructure, whenever feasible and of mutual interest.
