FURG signs cooperation agreement with the Coimbra Higher School of Nursing

The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) signed, on November 19, 2025, a cooperation agreement with the University of Coimbra, through its Higher School of Nursing (ESEUC), strengthening international academic relations and expanding opportunities in the field of Nursing. The document was officially signed by the rector of FURG, Suzane da Rocha Vieira Gonçalves, the vice-rector of the University of Coimbra, João Nuno Calvão da Silva, and the president of ESEUC, António Fernando Salgueiro Amaral.

The agreement establishes guidelines for the development of joint academic, scientific, and cultural activities. Among the planned initiatives are student and faculty exchanges, joint participation in international events, collaborative research projects, course offerings and training activities, as well as cultural exchange actions.

The partnership will allow, annually, two students to participate in a ten-month mobility period, or four students to undertake activities during five-month semesters, reinforcing the exchange of experiences and expanding the internationalization of Nursing education and research.

The agreement has an initial term of five years, and may be renewed upon the institutions’ mutual interest. The document is available on the Agreements page of the REINTER website.
