FURG establishes cooperation agreement with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain

The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) has signed an Academic, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Cooperation Agreement with the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) in Spain. The partnership was formalized by FURG’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Suzane da Rocha Vieira, and UPV’s Rector, Prof. Dr. José E. Capilla Romá.

The agreement aims to strengthen international cooperation ties between Brazil and Spain, supporting joint activities in teaching, research, outreach, and innovation. The partnership encompasses all areas of mutual academic interest and seeks to promote academic collaboration on multiple fronts.

Planned actions under the agreement include: student exchange (undergraduate and graduate), faculty and researcher mobility, joint projects in teaching, research, outreach, and technological innovation; participation and organization of academic, scientific, and cultural events; co-supervision of master’s theses and doctoral dissertations; participation in examination committees; and the potential implementation of dual degree programs, respecting the regulations of both institutions.

The agreement also provides for the exchange of academic and bibliographic materials, as well as other resources that may enhance collaborative activities. All activities resulting from this agreement will be carried out through specific agreements or addenda, when necessary.
