The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), through its Center for Computational Sciences (C3), has formalized a specific agreement with the Technological University of Uruguay (UTEC) for the joint implementation of a Stricto Sensu Master's Program in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
The agreement was signed by FURG Rector Prof. Dr. Suzane da Rocha Vieira Gonçalves and UTEC Rector Dr. Valeria Larnaudie, consolidating an important international academic cooperation initiative between Brazil and Uruguay in the field of emerging technologies.
The proposal is the result of advances and collaborative efforts promoted by the Pampa Biome Network of Public Higher Education Institutions, strengthening regional integration and the development of shared academic projects among public universities in both countries.
The agreement establishes the framework for the joint implementation of the master's program, with academic coordination shared between the institutions. Its objectives include strengthening teaching, research, and outreach activities in robotics, artificial intelligence, and related fields, as well as training highly qualified professionals to contribute to strategic sectors of technological innovation.
The program will involve faculty members from both institutions, integrated academic activities, supervision of research projects and final dissertations, and initiatives aimed at building international scientific collaboration networks.
In addition to academic training, the agreement provides for the joint development of research projects, cooperation in intellectual property and technological innovation matters, and the evaluation of future collaborative graduate programs in related areas.
The partnership reinforces FURG’s commitment to the internationalization of higher education, the production of high-quality scientific knowledge, and regional integration through academic and technological cooperation.
The agreement will remain in force for an initial period of two years and may be renewed by mutual agreement between the participating institutions.
