The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) has signed an academic and scientific cooperation agreement with the Polytechnic University of Setúbal (UNIPS), Portugal, with the aim of strengthening international relations and promoting the development of joint activities in teaching, research, and academic training.
The agreement establishes a general framework for cooperation between the institutions, creating opportunities for joint research projects, scientific publications, participation in conferences, and the exchange of academic knowledge and experiences.
The areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include the mobility of faculty members, researchers, students, and technical and administrative staff; the development of training programs; the organization of seminars, workshops, and courses; and the sharing of academic materials, publications, and best practices. The agreement also provides for the possibility of shared access to laboratories, equipment, and library collections, through programs jointly established by the institutions.
The partnership aims to expand opportunities for technical, scientific, and cultural collaboration, contributing to the enhancement of academic training and the strengthening of research activities and institutional development.
Valid for five years from the date of the last signature, the agreement establishes the foundation for future joint initiatives. Specific projects, implementation arrangements, and potential funding sources will be defined through additional protocols, in accordance with the interests and resources available at each institution.
The formalization of this partnership is part of FURG's efforts to expand its international presence and strengthen cooperation networks with foreign institutions, creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange and the development of joint academic initiatives.
