Celpe-Bras 2025/2 Public Notice Released and Includes FURG as a Test Site

The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) will serve as a Test Site for the 2025/2 edition of the Celpe-Bras (Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners), according to Public Notice No. 96/2025, published by the National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep).

Aimed at foreigners who wish to demonstrate proficiency in the Portuguese language, Celpe-Bras is the only certificate of proficiency in Portuguese as a foreign language officially recognized by the Brazilian government. The exam is a requirement for admission to universities and postgraduate programs in Brazil.

Registrations will be open from August 4 to 15, 2025, exclusively at celpebras.inep.gov.br. The exam will be held between October 21 and 24. The final results will be published on December 17.

At FURG, candidates will be able to take both the written and oral parts of the exam. The institution will also be responsible for confirming registrations, guiding participants, organizing the required infrastructure, and conducting the exam according to Inep regulations.

The registration fee at FURG will be R$ 245.00, but fees may vary by test site. Participants who require special accommodations or who wish to be identified by their social name must make the request at the time of registration, within the specified period.
