British Council Launches Research Collaboration Grant Call between Brazil and the United Kingdom

The British Council has opened applications for the "Research Environments Collaboration Grants 2025–2026", a program offering grants ranging from £25,000 to £40,000 to strengthen research collaboration between the UK and partner countries, including Brazil. The aim is to support the development of research environments and foster lasting connections between higher education institutions and non-profit research organizations in the participating countries.

The initiative seeks to fund 12-month projects, scheduled to begin in January 2026. Proposals must be jointly submitted by a lead institution in the UK and a partner institution in Brazil, Morocco, Pakistan, or Peru. The UK institution must be the one to officially submit the application.

The grants are intended to establish new research partnerships or significantly strengthen existing ones. The goal is to enhance the research capacity of the partner institution while promoting long-term collaboration between the countries involved.

The application deadline is September 9, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (UK time). For more information about requirements and the application process, interested parties should consult the official British Council website. A Q&A webinar about the call is scheduled for August 18, 2025.
