AUGM promotes Spring School “Universidad y democracia”

The Academic Committee of Social and Political Sciences of the Asociación de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM) has opened applications for the Spring School “Universidad y democracia: narrativas, memorias y horizontes en América Latina”, which will be held virtually from 13 to 28 November 2025. The program will be broadcast through the YouTube channel of the Prorrectorado of the National University of Córdoba (UNC), Argentina.

The initiative aims to create a space for critical reflection on the role of universities and culture in facing the challenges of Latin American democracies. With a total workload of 30 hours, the School will discuss how historical narratives, collective memories, and emerging alternatives can strengthen democratic societies.

The program is designed for undergraduate students from across Latin America and is structured around four main axes: the role of universities and regional integration in building democratic societies; the challenges and opportunities of digital democracy in times of disinformation and new technologies; the work of social and artistic collectives as agents of transformation and producers of alternative narratives; and historical memories in motion, in dialogue with the legacies of dictatorships and structural violence in the continent.

Applications are open until 30 September 2025 and can be submitted through the form available here. Questions can be sent to: escueladeprimavera@internacionales.unc.edu.ar.
