The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) has signed an Academic, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Cooperation Agreement with the University of Aveiro (UA) in Portugal. The document was signed by FURG’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Suzane da Rocha Vieira Gonçalves, and UA’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Paulo Jorge Ferreira.
The agreement aims to strengthen international collaboration between the two institutions by promoting the integration of teaching, research, outreach, and innovation activities. The partnership covers all areas of knowledge and includes actions such as student exchange (undergraduate and graduate), as well as faculty, researchers, and administrative staff mobility.
It also provides for the development of joint projects in teaching, research, outreach, and technological innovation; co-supervision of master’s dissertations and doctoral theses; participation in examination committees; organization of academic and cultural events; and the exchange of academic and bibliographic materials. The implementation of dual degree programs is also foreseen, in accordance with the regulations of each institution.
