Nos dias 11 e 12 de abril, a Universidade Federal do ABC (UFABC) sediou a primeira reunião presencial de 2023 do Grupo de Delegados Assessores da Associação de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM). A Secretaria de Relações Internacionais da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande (FURG) marcou presença no evento, onde temas como cooperação acadêmica, mobilidade e internacionalização foram discutidos.
A UFABC, que ingressou na AUGM em 2020, recebeu pela primeira vez a reunião do órgão. Durante a abertura, o reitor da UFABC, Dácio Matheus, destacou a necessidade de repensar o papel das universidades no desenvolvimento do país e enfrentar os desafios econômicos e desigualdades profundas. Alvaro Rico, secretário executivo da AUGM, ressaltou a importância da construção de um espaço comum de cooperação latino-americana.
Entre os temas abordados na reunião, estavam convocatórias presenciais e virtuais de mobilidade, Jornadas de Jovens Investigadores, Escolas de Verão Inverno, além de atividades e chamadas dos Núcleos Disciplinares, Comissões Permanentes, Comitês Acadêmicos e Cátedras. A agenda também incluiu o Plano Estratégico da AUGM e a Terceira Conferência Mundial de Educação Superior, entre outros assuntos relevantes.
Dalmo Mandelli, representante da UFABC, ressaltou a importância do evento para a instituição, destacando a promoção da cooperação entre universidades, o intercâmbio de experiências e boas práticas, e o estímulo ao desenvolvimento científico e tecnológico. Para a UFABC, a AUGM representa uma oportunidade de ampliar alianças com países da América Latina nas áreas de educação, ciência e tecnologia.
A participação da Secretaria de Relações Internacionais da FURG na reunião de Delegados Assessores da AUGM evidencia o compromisso da instituição em promover a cooperação acadêmica e o intercâmbio de conhecimentos com outras universidades latino-americanas, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento acadêmico, científico e tecnológico da região. AUGM Delegates Advisors Meeting Takes Place at UFABC with Participation from FURG's International Relations Office
On April 11th and 12th, the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) hosted the first in-person meeting of 2023 for the Delegates Advisors Group of the Montevideo Group Association of Universities (AUGM). The Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) International Relations Office was present at the event, where topics such as academic cooperation, mobility, and internationalization were discussed.
UFABC, which joined AUGM in 2020, hosted the meeting for the first time. During the opening ceremony, UFABC Rector Dácio Matheus emphasized the need to rethink the role of universities in the country's development and face economic challenges and deep inequalities. Alvaro Rico, AUGM Executive Secretary, highlighted the importance of building a common space for Latin American cooperation.
Among the topics addressed at the meeting were in-person and virtual mobility calls, Young Researchers Conferences, Summer-Winter Schools, as well as activities and calls from Disciplinary Centers, Standing Committees, Academic Committees, and Chairs. The agenda also included the AUGM Strategic Plan and the Third World Conference on Higher Education, among other relevant issues.
